New Zealand to expand its investment in Sri Lanka

The Government of New Zealand says it expects to broaden the existing investment in SriLanka.

New Zealand Transport Minister David Benette who is currently visiting Sri Lanka announced this when he met Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake at the Ministry of Finance this morning (March 07). Minister Benette said that the decision was taken after taking the current favorable economy of the island into consideration.
 
He said that the political and economic environment is prevailing at a conducive level therefore his country expects to further invest in Sri Lanka.

He pointed out that New Zealand is ready to assist in economic development activities, provide technical support in infrastructure development and assist in developing the agricultural sector of the island.

Expressing her views during the meeting, New High Commissioner of New Zealand in Sri LankaJoanne Kempers said that she appreciates the opportunity to serve in Sri Lanka.

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake noted that the New Zealand government has immensely contributed to strengthen the administration of the good governance.
