BBS CEO Dilanthe Vithanage says so in response to a claim by Rajapaksa that the organization had worked together with the UNP and Patali Champika Ranawaka to defeat him.
Rajapaksa said during a meeting with foreign journalists in Colombo yesterday that the BBS had attacked the Muslims in order to distance them from him.
He went onto say that he would know how to control groups such as the BBS once he is back in power.
However, Vithanage has told BBC Sandeshaya that everybody with links to Rajapaksa knew that the group had supported him.
Unfortunately, he is claiming otherwise on the advice of those around him now, said the BBS CEO.
He rejected allegations by Rajapaksa that the BBS has had connections with Ranawaka and Rajitha Senaratne, and said his group belonged to none of them.
