Gotabhaya says he doesn’t intend to be a politician Featured

Former defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa says he does not intend to become a politician, although the intellectuals may join the state administration process.

Addressing a conference of ‘Viyath Maga’ at Golden Rose in Borelesgamuwa on March 04, he said he would get together with intellectuals to formulate a mechanism to take the country to the correct path.

Gotabhaya stressed that he would not expect a position in a future government, but would continue serving the people.

Ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa and G.L. Peiris too, participated.

Also addressing the occasion were Dr. Dayan Jayatilake and retired Maj. Gen. Kamal Gunaratne, with the latter saying national security was in a bad way with functions of military intelligence coming to a standstill.
