Suki’s crown of glory to Maithri Featured

United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights,  Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein had told a group of diplomatic officials in Geneva recently that the International glory and respect the International community had for Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi is now being accorded to President Maithripala Sirisena.

At the time of the statement, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera and a group of Sri Lankan delegates were also present.

In particular, the commission to seek public comments under the reconciliation mechanism initiated by the government on the recommendations of the President, was commended by the UN High Commissioner.

He also urged the Sri Lankan government to implement the recommendations of the report by the reconciliation task force having obtained the views of over 7,000 citizens.
However, it is reported that the President had rejected the report and publicly stated that  he will not be manipulated by the whims and fancies of the non-governmental organisations.

It is reported that the democratic leadership of Myanmar's Aung San Suu Kyi is now waning due to her anti-Muslim stance being carried out in Myanmar which has come under severe criticism of the international human rights activists.
