Act to establish Private Health Care Regulatory Council to be revised

Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne has decided to revise the Act for the establishment of the Private health care regulatory council.

In this regard a three member committee has been established and the report is expected to be handed over to the Health Minister within a month.

The three member committee is headed by the Health Services Director General and includes the Private hospitals regulatory Directress and the Health Ministry Legal Directress.

The Health Minister has issued instructions to revise the Act taking into consideration the British Government Health Services Regulatory Council report.

The Minister said this while participating in a discussion with the medical Technical Officers Association.
Health Ministry Secretary Anura Jayawickrema, Acting Director General of Health Services, Hemantha Benaragama, Chief Accountant of the Health MinistryP. Rajapaksa and President of the Government Medical Technical Officers Association Ravi Kumudesh were also present.
