The reason for the suspension is that 18 of the cinema theatres had objected to its screening. The most notable was that ‘Cine City’ a leading theatre that screens Tamil films in the country, is among those opposing the screening of Bahubali-2.
The main reason for the objection is that the businessman who brought the film to Sri Lanka named Nazurulla, had reduced the profit margin to cinema theatres and his refusal to allow Eros and Ruby cinema theatres to screen the movie.
