President, PM worried by Port chairman’s criticism Featured

The president and the prime minister are both worried by the criticism of the government by Port Authority chairman Dhammika Ranatunga, brother of ports minister Arjuna Ranatunga.

That is especially so due to Dhammika himself being subjected to strong criticism.

Meanwhile, labour minister John Seneviratne has conducted a confidential inquiry into the conflicts between the chairman and the employees of the SLPA.

The inquiry report is now ready and is due to be handed over to the president and the prime minister.

Among the serious accusations faced by Dhammika include his having issued orders to the SLPA’s financial division in breach of the due procedures and ignored the recommendations made by the managing director.
