‘Two-third majority defeat for no-faith motion’ Featured

The UNP says it has made arrangements to defeat, by a two-third parliamentary majority, the no-confidence motion by the joint opposition against prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe over the Central Bank bond issue.

The party alleges the JO is showing its political bankruptcy by trying to mislead the public in this manner, after keeping its mouth tightly shut at the COPE deliberations into the matter.

Cabinet spokesman Rajitha Senaratne said the cabinet too, has unanimously decided to defeat the motion against the premier.

Meanwhile, deputy minister Ranjan Ramanayake claims there is opposition to the no-confidence motion even within the JO, and that it will boomerang on the JO.
