UNP to hold disciplinary inquiry against PC member Featured

The UNP is to conduct a disciplinary inquiry against western provincial councilor Anuradha Wimalaratne on an order by party leader, prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Wimalaratne stands accused of having leaked to the media an incident at Sirikotha, where the party’s general secretary Kabir Hashim came under verbal attack by provincial councilors on November 03.

The PC members accused Hashim of being the weakest general secretary ever of the UNP.

They went onto to allege that state and deputy ministers, provincial council and local government members as well as party members cannot contact him over the phone, leaving alone meeting him.

The PC members reminded Hashim about the past when he had abandoned the party saying the UNP could never win elections under Wickremesinghe, and also how he had campaigned to bring Sajith Premadasa as leader of the party.
