Decision on Wijeyadasa today! Featured

The UNP parliamentary group and working committee is to meeting at the party headquarters - Sirikotha today (17) under the auspices of party leader, Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Speaking, MP Nalin Bandara said that a petition against minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe signed by over 60 MPs is to be handed over today. The minister faces charges of deliberately delaying court cases pertaining to corruption which had taken place during the days of the previous regime.

Meanwhile, Buddhist monks of the Asgiriya Chapter have expressed their displeasure over the move to bring a non-confidence motion against minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.

Making a special statement at the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya yesterday (16), the registrar of the Asgiriya Chapter, the Venerable Dr. Medagama Dhammananda Thero urged parliament to refrain from taking up such a move.
