Acting upon the order, police have already arrested Suresh Priyasad alias Dan Priyasad, who had carried out a malicious campaign against minorities through social media.
Tawheed Jamaat leader Abdul Raseeq is due to be arrested today (16), said the sources.
Priyasad, arrested yesterday on a charge of inciting racism and creating communal disharmony, has been remanded by the Colombo Fort magistrate for 10 days.
Last weekend, he told a gathering in Anuradhapura in the presence of Buddhist monks that water supply minister Rauff Hakeem could poison reservoirs.
In another incident involving him in front of Colombo Fort railway station, Priyasad threatened suicide bomb attacks against Muslims.
His arrest is pursuant to a complaint lodged by NUA leader Asath Sally, who said he has complained to the IGP against four racists, the others being BBS leader Galaboda Gnanasara, Ampitiye Sumanaratana and the Tawhid Jamad leader.
President, PM warn
Meanwhile, both the president and the prime minister have warned that extremists in the Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities are plotting to create a communal clash once again.
Their collective warning came at a function at the BMICH yesterday to mark the 30th anniversary of ‘Ravaya’ newspaper.
