Blood Bank does not use 2 HIV blood testing machines Featured

The Blood Bank is not using two blood testing machines donated by the Netherlands two years ago to determine HIV infections.

Each machine is worth around Rs. 50 million, reports say.

The reactive used in these machines are costly, but these machines can test only a limited number of samples.

However, when considering the time factor, these machines make it possible to know the result in five days, whereas other tests take as many as 20 days.

The tests conducted so far using these machines have cost around Rs. 30 million, say Blood Bank sources.
