Hunugalagala 410px 10-08-13Professor Raj Somadeva of the Kelaniya university department of history says that the theory about Sri Lanka receiving its agricultural and black smithery technology from India has to be changed.

He made this comment while speaking about his latest excavations which is being conducted in Haldummulla Hunugalagala cave.

He has discovered evidence of human evolution which dates back to 5000 years fro his excavations in Haldummulla.

These discoveries have been made in an excavation conducted by Professor Somadewa and a group from the post graduate institute of Kalaniya university.

He said that he found stone utensils which were used to grind seeds and some evidence about basic pottery.

Along with that a stone statue of a man's upper body too has been found.

Professor further pointed out that the local population had been enhancing their culture preserving their own identity.
