Rs. 2.92 billion loss for country - Nissanka Senadhipathi

Avant Garde Maritime Services (Pvt) Ltd says that the country has incurred a loss of Rs. 2.92 billion in the 13 1/2 months since the Navy took over their floating armoury operations in Galle.

Earlier, the Navy stated that they have earned Rs. 2.26 billion since taking over the the operations from Avant Garde Maritime Services.

However, Avant Garde Maritime Services say that they acquired an annual profit of Rs. 4.9 billion when handling the operation.

Accordingly, 55% of foreign exchange flowing into the country has been lost, the company adds.
