Mendis - Guneratna sets new record

As Day 01 of the first Test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh came to a close, Sri Lanka reached a slow but steady innings to reach 321 /4.
 
Winning the toss, Sri Lankan skipper opted to bat first.
 
Asela Gunaratne was bowled by Taskin Ahmed after securing 85 runs.
 
Kusal Mendis’ impressive innings of 166* runs off 242 bowls included 2 sixes and 18 fours.
 
Dinesh Chandimal was caught by Mehedi Hasan Miraz after scoring 5 runs off 54 balls.
 
Meanwhile, Kusal Mendis’ and Asela Gunaratne’s 196-run partnership broke Sri Lanka’s record for the highest fourth wicket partnership against Bangladesh. The record was previously held by Aravinda de Silva and Kumar Sangakkara in 2002 at the R. Premadasa stadium.
