Hopper price upped to Rs. 15!

Due to the fluctuation of prices of goods in the market and the increase in the price of gas, the price of food items will have to be increased, said the All Island Cefeteria Owners Association, issuing a statement.

Accordingly, a cup of plain tea will be sold at a maximum retail price of Rs. 20.00, packet of rice Rs. 130, hopper Rs. 14, and a cup of milk tea Rs. 40.

The Association called on the Consumer Affairs Authority to intervene in stabilizing the prices of essential food items.

The statement indicates that the government should take on the responsibility of the rising cost of goods.
