The national celebration and exhibition of Sustain Lanka programme was ceremonially inaugurated at the BMICH in Colombo today (31) under the auspices of President Maithripala Sirisena.
The event is held with the objective of strengthening the future generation to ensure a future with toxin-free food, clean drinking water and a protected environment.
The exhibition will run until April 04 from 9.00 am to 10.00 pm daily and entrance will be free.
Featuring 700 exhibition stalls, the event will have exhibits raising awareness on the toxin free concept, intellectual dialogues, health clinics, artistic performances and a green employment fair.
Kos Māmā's New Year message
Among the stallholders is S. Lalith Manjula Silva, better known as 'Kos Māmā' (Jackfruit uncle). An entrepreneur from Wadduwa, Mr. Silva is the proprietor of 'Akalanka Products', which features toxin-free food items made from Jackfruit.
He has already produced 148 food items using Jackfruit.
