Mathews, Ford object to Jayasuriya’s decisions Featured

Chief selector Sanath Jayasuriya is reportedly disappointed with the top management of the Sri Lanka cricket team, Sri Lanka Cricket sources say.

Head coach Graham Ford and captain Anjelo Mathews have objected to some of the players chosen by Jayasuriya.

The most recent instance was in the selection of the squad for the ongoing South Africa tour.

The chief selector has given opportunities to many talented players in the calibre of Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dushmantha Chameera, Amila Aponso, Asela Gunaratne, Dasun Shanaka, Kasun Rajitha, Avishka Fernando and Lakshan Sandakan.

Sources say senior members of the team, who were there when Jayasuriya represented the country, are unhappy with him.
