Ford, Willis blamed for Test whitewash Featured

Head coach Graham Ford and high performance manager Simon Willis are coming under strong criticism following Sri Lanka’s Test whitewash at the hand of the South Africans.

Both are leveling the finger at the selection committee, but critics say Willis will have to take the blame mostly.

He has been recruited by Sri Lanka Cricket at a monthly allowance of 15,000 US dollars, and his responsibility is to improve talents of the players given to him and take the team to success, a critic told Sri Lanka Mirror.

Aravinda introduced both to SLC

According to reports reaching SLM, Willis had not made much contribution to the team during preparations for the South Africa tour.

Ford too, gets a 12,000 USD monthly allowance.

Meanwhile, Nic Pothas, recruited at a monthly allowance of 8,000 USD as the fielding coach, is presently on tour with the under-19 team.

Both Willis and Pothas have been introduced to SLC by its consultant Aravinda de Silva, who built connections with them during his stint with the English county Kent.
