Reasons leading to Kusal’s exclusion from the Australian tour, having participated in the South Africa tour have now come to light.

It is said to be due to an upcoming decisive eight round, fist eleven competition.

The battle for the first eleven league championships will be staged from February 13 to 16, between the SSC and CCC and Chilaw Marians and Ragama Cricket Club.

The winners will receive Rs. 2.5 million in cash and a team bus as prizes from the Cricket Board.

Players from the President’s eleven team omitted

Due to these two crucial matches, it is revealed that prominent players from the President’s eleven have also not been named for the tournament against the England ‘A’ team scheduled to be worked out at the Moratuwa Cricket Stadium on February 12th.

Trouble in the selection committee

The selection committee including Sanath Jayasuriya was at loggerheads with Sri Lanka Cricket recently over the non-inclusion of players named by them to the Sri Lanka National Team and the President’s Eleven Team.

It is said that these players were omitted from these teams due to the two upcoming league championships.
