Dilshan's warrant revoked (update)

Former Sri Lanka Cricket captain - Thilakaratne Dilshan’s arrest warrant has been revoked by the Colombo Chief Magistrate court, reports say.

His arrest warrant has been revoked after Dilshan appeared before courts after filing a motion through a lawyer.

He had cited the reason for his absence as being unclear on the date.

The warrant was issued after the cricketer failed to appear in a child maintenance case filed by his former wife - Nilanka Withanage after he failed to pay the monthly maintenance fee of Rs.20,000 and the insurance for their child.

Warrant to arrest Dilshan

Colombo Chief Magistrate - Lal Ranasinghe Bandara yesterday (24) issued a warrant to arrest former cricket captain - Tillakaratne Dilshan.

The warrant was issued after the cricketer failed to appear in a child maintenance case filed by his former wife - Nilanka Withanage.

Dilshan has failed to pay the monthly maintenance fee of Rs.20,000 and the insurance of his child from his previous marriage.

His lawyers informed the Courts that their client was overseas participating in a cricket tournament, but the lawyers of the aggrieved party established that he was in the country.

The case will be taken up again on May 24.

Meanwhile, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns that the lawyers appearing on behalf of Dilshan has been changed on seven counts.
