Today (April 23) marks Bak Full Moon Poya Day which commemorates the second visit of Lord Buddha to Sri Lanka that took place in the fifth year of Lord Buddha’s Supreme Enlightenment.
According to the Mahavamsa, during this visit, Lord Buddha visited Nagadeepa to solve the feud between two groups belonging to the Naga community, (a group led by King Mahodara and other led by King Mahodara’s nephew – Chulodara) and bring peace by preaching Dhamma.
