He was addressing the media at the Examinations Department on Wednesday.

The analysing panel has decided to offer two marks for two questions of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) paper of Science Paper 1 of the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination, which concluded yesterday.

He said that Science question paper 1 has led to controversy with the recent spread on social media that the science paper contains questions outside essential teachings.

Commenting on this he added that during the Covid-19 pandemic period it was decided to remove some parts from teaching at schools as a move to well-utilise the school time under the method called “Recovery Plan for Learning Loss 2022”.

The Recovery Plan for Learning Loss 2022 was scheduled to be implemented until 2023. However this examination is related to last year (2023) even though it was held in 2024.
