Former Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella and 07 others have been further remanded until July 12 by the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court over the import of substandard human Immunoglobulin vials.

This order was issued when the case was taken up before the Maligakanda Magistrate today (28).

Meanwhile, a suspect in the case – an officer of the Medical Supplies Division (MSD), has been released on bail.

A decision has been taken to reduce bus fares by 5% with effect from July 01.

The reduction comes under the annual fare revision, and as agreed during a meeting between Transport Ministry officials and private bus operators earlier today (28).
Accordingly, the minimum fare has been reduced by Rs. 2 to Rs. 28.

Chairman of ‘Magen Ratata’ movement Sanjaya Mahawaththa has been remanded until July 05 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate – Thilina Gamage.

The Chairman of ‘Magen Ratata’ movement Sanjaya Mahawaththa has been arrested today (June 28).

Police say that he has been arrested for allegedly making false allegations against senior police officers.
