Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva said that he will resign if any evidence is provided to prove that SLC funds have been spent to facilitate the travel of artistes, including actors and actresses, to Australia for the 2022 T20 Cricket World Cup.

He expressed these views while speaking at a special news briefing held at Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) yesterday (25).

The Chairman said that SLC has issued letters to the actors, actresses and friends who attended the series as fans but it has not spent any money on them.

The actors and actresses encouraged the Sri Lankan cricket team and they will to do so in the matches held in Sri Lanka as well, he said.

SLC Vice President Jayantha Dharmadasa said that he has not taken part in the kind of tours with the actors and actresses as reported by media and that no money has been spent by SLC on them.

SLC Secretary Mohan De Silva, its Treasurer Sujeewa Godaliyadda and Chief Executive Officer Ashley De Silva also participated in the news briefing.
