'LANKAPAK 2018'  packaging exhibition announced (Pics)

Minister of Industry & Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen says that both the President and the Prime Minister have stressed the importance of producing environmentally friendly degradable packaging material in Sri Lanka.

“I believe this sector is one of the most important sectors for branding Sri Lankan exports,” he added.

The minister was speaking during the media launch of the 'LANKAPAK 2018' exhibition, which will be held from Sep. 14 - 16 at the BMICH, Colombo.

Mr. Kithsiri Wijesundara delivered the keynote address on sustainable packaging while Mr. Imran Hassan - MD of CDC Events and Travels (Pvt.) Ltd, Mr. Thejan de Silva - MD of Colt Trading (Pvt.) Ltd. , Mr. Rohan Victoria - president of the Asian Packaging Federation, Mr. Anuradha Jayasinghe - president of the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging, Mr. Thushantha Karunanayake - Vice president of the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging, Mr. J.D.C. Perera - Chairman of the Packaging Development Center and  Mr. Rohan Wijesinghe - Deputy president of the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging also attended the press briefing.

'LANKAPAK 2018' will be held by the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging and CDC events, together with government and private sector organisations.

Issues pertaining to the industry will be discussed by a panel of experts at the exhibition and at the LANKAPAK packaging congress 2018. It will be the most important events to take place in Colombo this year as 150 exhibitors are expected to showcase their latest technology products, innovations and packaging at the exhibition.
