Bakery with expired goods, registered in India! Featured

It is revealed that the bakery recently found with 17.5 tonnes of expired bakery ingredients is an Indian registered company. 
The expired ingredients seized by the  Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA)  during this raid is said to be amounting to around Rs. 15 million.
This was revealed when the CAA filed a case against the bakery at the Wattala Magistrate's Court yesterday (05).
However, lawyers representing the company had denied the allegations, maintaining their client was innocent.

Accordingly, the case will be taken up again on Feb. 19th.

'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns that a one Mohammed Moula is appearing as the Sri Lankan owner of Madina Foods.

Madina Foods also owns and operates well known pastry shop chain in Sri Lanka - Caravan Fresh.

Mohammed Moula is also said to be a director of Switz Lanka Pvt Ltd, a company behind the egg product labeled as 'Happy Hen'.

Upon contacting several high placed officers of Madina Foods, we were told they did not know details about the company's directors.

Meanwhile, outlets of Caravan Fresh appear quite empty as the public has been avoiding them since the news of the raid emerged.
