The minister's action comes after a discussion with the CEO and and HR head of SLT Human Capital Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd. which is a subsidiary of SLT.
Mr. Roshan Kaluarachchi and Mr. Diwan Ruwanpura currently function as the CEO and and HR head of SLT Human Capital Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd. respectively.
It is said that the Minister had opposed a suggestion that 400 manpower jobs could be created.
The SLT chairman had urged the CEO of the company to provide a fair proposal to close down Human Capital Solutions and integrate all its employees to SLT, for reasonable salaries.
However, the minister had opposed this idea.
The Chairman has pointed out that since all expenses including wages of Human Capital Solutions are handled by the SLT anyway, it is a waste of money and resources to maintain two institutions.
Accordingly, a proposal has already been given to the SLT chairman with regard to integrating employees of the Human Capital Solutions, based on their qualifications.
This issue has prevailed for well over a decade.
