He said a kilo of sugar could go up by Rs. 18 and a tin of fish by Rs. 50. In addition, a kilo of dhal and chickpeas could go up by Rs. 03.
Noting that the government has informed to to take necessary steps to import essential commodities with the spread of the Covid-19 virus, he said that the prices could increase as stocks were ordered under prevailing prices and foreign exchange rates.
He further stated that there will be no shortage of goods in the country as an adequate supply of essential consumer goods has been ordered.
