Selling rate of US$ exceeds Rs.198 mark

According to the daily exchange report of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), the current buying rate of the US Dollar yesterday (20) stood at Rs.192.85.

The selling rate of the US dollar stood at Rs.198.26.

Meanwhile, commenting on the continuous depreciation of the rupee against the dollar, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dhammika Nanayakkara at a media briefing on Tuesday (19) stated that the dollar's value has surged due to the increasing demand for imports.
