The case was filed against Maliban Biscuit company, Consumer Affairs Authority and Sri Lanka Standards Institute.
Sri Lanka Vinivida Peramuna Chairperson Nagananda Kodituwakku said Maliban company had admitted that their “Lemon Puff” biscuit does not contain “real lemon despite the company’s claims on their biscuit cover and the advertisements.
The company was given seven days to remove the biscuit with the particular wrapper.
That seven days expired on Jan 18 and Kodituwakku said they have previously informed the Maliban company that they would resort to legal action if the company fails to remove the particular biscuit from the market.
