Local coconut oil producers in a crisis due to multinational companies! Featured

The All Ceylon Traditional Coconut Oil Manufacturers' Association states that it has become difficult for local coconut oil manufacturers to meet the demands of the local market due to the lack of raw ingredients.

General Convener of the coconut oil Industry - Buddhika de Silva says that the local coconut oil industry is facing a crisis due to the misconduct of multinational companies.

There are about 700 traditional coconut oil producers in the country and they have the machinery to meet the local demand of coconut oil, he added.

However, it is said that the traditional coconut oil industrialists are facing a crisis due to shortage of coconuts after large quantities are exported by multinational companies.
