Letter against Laugfs' conduct by Wimal’s party Featured

The National Freedom Alliance has alleged that Laugfs Gas is acting in an unethical manner and contravening the Consumer Protection Act.
In a letter addressed to State Minister of Cooperative Services, Marketing Development and Consumer Protection, Lasantha Alagiyawanne, the NFA stated that not releasing an established product to the market due to a price hike not being allowed, is distasteful.

Meanwhile, Laugfs Chairman K.H. Wegapitiya stated the lack of gas is due to the issues faced with letters of Credit necessary for imports, due to the dollar exchange rate issues faced by local banks.

Minister Bandula Goonewardene meanwhile stated that a solution to the problems faced by Laugfs gas will be arrived at, following discussions with the Ministry of Finance this week.
