The program has been launched by the Suganth Diving Center, the latest venture under the Suganth Group of Companies, Mattakkuliya, Colombo 15.

Mr. Suganthaseelan Aravinthan - the Managing Director at Suganth Group of Companies and Suganth Diving Center said that this will facilitate newcomers to the sport of diving in the vicinity of the Crow Island Beach Park in Mutwal and the hope to expand operations to a diving training school.

Aravindan said that arrangements have been made to launch NVQ3 level diving courses in collaboration with the Ocean University of Sri Lanka and that the center will create and provide employment opportunities for 1,000 scuba divers in Jaffna, Mannar, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi, Puttalam, Matara and Hambantota.

Minister Douglas Devananda said that he would extend his fullest support to this young entrepreneur and his business which is trying to bring foreign exchange to the country by focusing on several maritime related industries.

Representatives from several institutes including the Ocean University, NARA and the Ministry of Fisheries were present at the occasion.
