Accordingly, a litre of 92 octane petrol has been increased by Rs. 20 raisingthe new price to Rs. 177 per litre.
It has also been decided to increase the price of 95 octane petrol by Rs. 23 per liter. Accordingly, the new price will be 207 rupees.
The price of a liter of diesel has been increased by 10 rupees and the new price is 121 rupees.The price of a liter of Super Diesel has also been increased by 10 rupees and the new price is 159 rupees.
Meanwhile, the price of a liter of kerosene has been increased by 10 rupees to 87 rupees.
Market data shows that the proposal to increase fuel prices in Sri Lanka has been taken at a time when the price of a barrel of crude oil in the world market is falling again.
The price of a barrel of Brent crude oil was US $ 85.82 on October 20th and today it is down 17 percent to US $ 71.24.
