Chinese fertilizer company hesitating to send fresh samples - Mahindananda

The Chinese company, whose first shipment of organic fertilizer was rejected by Sri Lanka, seems to be hesitant to send fresh samples, Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said today (25).
Speaking at the Cabinet briefing this morning, the minister said that although the company had entered into an agreement to provide organic fertilizer per USD 345, the market price of the fertilizer had actually gone up to per USD 790.

"Now, they are supposed to send fresh samples... However, we haven't received them yet. Although we have asked them to send us the samples soon, we can see that they are hesitating," he said.

Sri Lanka recently entered into an agreement with Qingdao Seawin Biotech Group Co., Ltd to provide organic fertilizer which led to much controversy.
