It is said that this request has been made in comparison to the decision taken by Lanka IOC to increase fuel prices.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has lost nearly Rs. 48.00 per liter of diesel and Rs. 15.00 per liter of petrol compared to the import price in January, said Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Chairman Sumith Wijesinghe.
CPC will have to take a decision compared to the LIOC
With the decision of Lanka IOC to increase fuel prices, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation will also have to take a decision, said Cabinet Spokesman, Media Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.
However, he said that no discussions have taken place in the government or the cabinet regarding an increase in fuel prices.
The IOC recently took steps to increase petrol and diesel prices. However, Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila said that the Petroleum Corporation has not yet taken any decision to increase prices.
