Details of the two luxury Cadillac Escalade vehicles that were widely shared on social media, have been revealed.

Footage of the two vehicles that were taken while the vehicles were transported via the Southern Expressway, was widely shared and questions were raised on how they were imported amid import restrictions.

It is now revealed that the vehicles were being taken to the Autogroup International Sri Lanka (AGI), a fully Australian owned BOI approved company specializing in automobile conversions. The company has offices in Dallas, USA and in Melbourne, Australia.

At present, the ISO certified company exports such converted vehicles to countries such as India, United Kingdom, Indonesia, South Africa and Malaysia while 90 percent of the company's output goes to Australia.

The company which has been operating in Sri Lanka for over 15 years and has been given tax free bond facilities through the BoI to import these vehicles.
