Thriposha production stopped without corn, milk powder!

The Director of the Family Health Services Bureau, Dr. Chitramali de Silva, said that there are no more Thriposha in the warehouses of the Ministry of Health to provide to infants and pregnant mothers.

Therefore, Thriposha will not be given to pregnant mothers and babies who visit clinics, she said.

Due to the inability to meet the requirement of maize for the production of Thriposha, it has not been possible to provide Thriposha to infants and pregnant mothers.

About 70 metric tons of maize is required for the production of Thriposha daily.

Although the government decided to import maize due to the inability to meet the required quantity of maize, it has also stalled.

Also, this situation has arisen due to the inability to obtain sufficient quantity of whole milk powder required for the production of Thriposha.
