It is reported that this decision had been taken due to insufficient stocks of crude oil for refinery operations.
However, it is also reported that crude oil has been ordered from several companies.
According to a spokesman however,
A spokesman said that a specific date for receiving the orders had not yet been announced.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says operations would resume at the refinery as soon as the order is received.
Meanwhile, a ship carrying 20,000 metric tons of diesel is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka from India tomorrow (20) in line with the agreement signed with India.
