SriLankan has no aircraft to operate after next year! Featured

Sri Lankan Airlines' 24 aircraft will be reduced to 11 aircraft within the next one year, according to the airline's Employees Union (Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya).

They state that if such a situation arises, the airline would not be able to compete with other international airlines.

Eight of the 24 aircraft leased by Sri Lankan Airlines will end next year (2023) and the it is vital to lease more aircraft in order to maintain the current daily schedule, the union said.

Sri Lankan Airlines Workers' Union says that the market can be taken advantage of by ordering ahead of schedule as it is not possible to get several commercial aircraft instantly.

The Sri Lankan Airlines’ Union said this in connection with the allegations leveled regarding the plans to lease more aircraft.
