Minister of Trade – Nalin Fernando has said that Bakery producers will be given a week’s time to slash prices of bread.
Speaking at a media briefing today (July 31), he said that legal action would be sought if they still did not do so.
The minister further stated that the weight of bread must be displayed and that the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has been urged to raid errant traders.
