Kottu price reduced by Rs. 50/-

The restaurant owners association says that the price of a kottu will be reduced by Rs. 50 /- with effect from today.

Its Chairman, Asela Sampath said that the decision was taken after the price of imported wheat flour decreased in the market.

Meanwhile, the All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association says that although the wholesale price of a kilo of imported wheat flour has been reduced to Rs. 290/-, the price of bakery products including bread cannot be reduced.

Its Chairman, N.K. Jayawardena stated that the two main companies which supply wheat flour for bakery products have not reduced their prices so far.

He said that due to this, the price of bakery products including bread cannot be reduced.
