Mrs. Sandamali Chandrasekara has been appointed as the new chairperson of Lanka Sugar Company (Pvt) Ltd (LSCPL), following the resignation of the previous chairman, Mr. Rukshan Gunathilaka.
Additionally, Mrs. Deepika K Gunarathna has been appointed as the Director/ CEO of LSCPL.
The newly appointed chairperson and CEO recently visited the Pelwatte and Sevanagala sugar factories falling under the LSCPL,where they met with senior officials, union representatives, employees, and farmers.
Brown Sugar orders temporarily halted
Meanwhile, buyers have been informed that loading of brown sugar orders at the Pelwatte and Sevanagala warehouses have been temporarily halted from March 24 to April 02, due to an audit being conducted by the Auditor General’s Department at the premises.
This has been officially communicated to buyers through a formal notice signed by the new chairperson – Mrs.Sandamali Chandrasekara.
According to the notice, the brown sugar orders will resume as usual once the audit is completed.
