Union Finance Minister of India – Ms. Nirmala Sitaraman inaugurated the newest branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) in Sri Lanka, during her visit to Trincomalee today (02).
Governor of Eastern Province – Mr. Senthil Thondaman, India’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka – Mr. Gopal Baglay and Chairman of the SBI – Mr. Dinesh Khara were also present at the inauguration.
Following the inauguration, Ms. Sitaraman interacted with the new branch officials and distributed passbooks to new customers, besides filling the visitor’s book in Trincomalee.
