Sri Lanka Railways said that ‘Seethawaka Odyssey’ train will be operative on Saturdays as well from next weekend.
The Transport Minister had given relevant instructions as per a request made by the Western Province Tourism Board.
The Seethawaka Odyssey train runs from Colombo Fort to Waga on the Kelani Valley line and it was only operative on Sundays so far.
It stops at 14 stations and takes 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete the journey.
The Western Province Tourism Board said that it is planned to promote tourist sites at the railway stations where Seethawaka Odyssey makes stops.
