The actress had lodged a complaint with the Mirihana police on October 28, 2010, that the said director had obtained Rs. 1 million from her promising to import a vehicle for her from Japan.
Later based on the instructions of the Western Province DIG Wasantha Wickramasinghe, the Mirihana Special Crimes unit had conducted investigations and based on their investigation results the director was arrested at his office in Kohuwela.
The actress had said in her statement that the director was handed the money on September 21, 2016, and he had promised to get her the vehicle within three months.
She had also stated in her complaint that until the new vehicle was brought down, she was given an old vehicle for her use.
However, four months after she had paid the money the vehicle was not imported as promised and later another friend of the director had come on 17 February, 2017 and taken away the old vehicle given for her use claiming that it was his vehicle.
Further in her complaint the actress had stated that the cheque given to her on June 22, 2017 by the director for the money she paid him from a state bank in Borella had also bounced.
