Dinesh says no to events with politicians

Of late, politicians have been openly snubbed by artistes.

From Suren Chamikara and Kasun Chathuranga, who refused to shake hands or receive awards from MPs Duminda Dissanayake and Udaya Gammanpila at the National Drama Youth Award Ceremony to veteran actor - W. Jayasiri rejecting his state award, their actions have been greatly admired by the public.

The latest to join the bandwagon is award winning musician - Dinesh Subasinghe, who usually speaks through the sweet music of his violin rather than his voice.

In a Facebook post, Dinesh has kindly requested not to invite him to any event which is attended by politicians, where himself or musical instruments are subjected to security checks.

"It is because this is the only country in the world where true crooks go unprobed while innocent people are probed instead by security equipment," he says.

His Facebook post, which has been shared over 6,500 times, has been lauded by many.
