Filmmakers' media briefing postponed Featured

A Press Conference scheduled to be held at the National Film Corporation (NFC) today (02) at 3.00 pm has been postponed.

The press conference, held jointly by Film Producers, Film Directors, Distributors and Film Exhibitors' Association was to take up several key issues related to the industry in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It has been stated that the press conference was postponed by the NFC at the last minute citing health reasons. However, it has been alleged that the real reason was due to some parties set to frankly air views on issues such as incapability of the NFC and the industry receiving no relief from Budget 2021.

As the nation braces itself for Cyclone Burevi, the postponing of the media brief is also said to be sarcastically referred to as a 'cyclone' which hit the film industry.

Following are the notices issued to Film Producers, Film Directors, Distributors and Film Exhibitors' Association, announcing the cancellation of today's press conference.
