The team of Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ movie has agreed to alter a scene where a killer is wearing a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) jersey, India Today reported.

The movie has been in the news for shattering one box office record after another. However, recently, the ‘Jailer’ team was dragged to court by Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Indian Premier League team.

The RCB counsel approached the court after they found out that the film has a scene in which a killer is sporting the RCB jersey. The two parties have now decided to settle the matter outside court.

In a particular scene from ‘Jailer’, a contract killer, sporting an RCB jersey, mouths sexist dialogue to a woman. The counsel representing RCB, in Delhi High Court, said that the ‘Jailer’ team did not get permission to use their jersey and the scene could impact the brand.

The case was heard recently and the counsel of both sides told the court that they will settle the matter outside court. The makers of ‘Jailer’, had promised to alter the scene digitally. Sun Pictures, the production house of ‘Jailer’, told the Court that the change would be made by September 1. They also assured that the film with the altered scene would be telecast on TV and OTT platforms.

The court ordered, “The Defendants as also all parties acting for or on their behalf including their distribution network shall be bound by the above terms and conditions. With effect from 1st September, 2023, in the theatrical depiction of the film Jailer the RCB team jersey shall stand edited/altered. The Defendants shall ensure that after 1st September, 2023, none of the theatres would exhibit the RCB jersey in any form whatsoever. Insofar as television, satellite or any OTT platform is concerned, prior to the release thereof, the altered version of the film shall be broadcasted/telecasted.”
